About us

Travel Like A Local
We are a small, owner-operated wine tour and travel company based in California. We specialize in guiding tours to the top wine destinations in France.
Trips are small group (up to 8 travelers) and are guided by English/French speaking guides. Private or custom group/corporate tours are available.
Our Vision
Vintage Wine and Travel is a premier wine education and travel partner, specializing in “slow tourism” – a sustainable travel trend that encourages travelers to slow down and immerse themselves in the local culture and environment. Slow travel is different from mainstream tourism, which often focuses on rushing from one overcrowded destination to another. Instead, we went in search of unique experiences and historic family-run estates that bring to life the tradition and values of Burgundy.
Highlighting rare female-owned estates, small family farmers, cheese makers, mustard producers, and award-winning multi-generation wine-makers, our tours combine sightseeing, gastronomic exploration, and oenoculture to create rewarding travel experiences of a lifetime.
MEET OUR OWNERS

Sebastien was born in the Burgundy region of France, spending his childhood between France and Germany. His family owned a small business and his father worked as a wine merchant in Bourgogne. Sebastien was a member of the French Special Forces for over a decade, living and traveling in Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, where he taught HALO parachuting, before meeting Lisa and moving to California.
Lisa is a sommelier, cookbook author, recipe creator, and wine educator originally from Lake Tahoe, California. Lisa spent 6 years studying at Oxford University completing multiple graduate degrees and learning about wine and blind wine tasting from some of the top blind tasters in Europe. At Oxford, Lisa became a member of the Oxford Varsity Blind Wine Tasting team, competing in London, Epernay, and Bordeaux, and later serving as president of the Wine Tasting Society. Lisa worked as a non-profit executive for an international humanitarian organization for over a decade, before shifting her focus back to food, wine, and travel.
Lisa and Sebastien currently split their time between California and France and are excited to help others discover the local villages, chateaux, vineyards and restaurants they have come to know and love. They now work full time coordinating wine tastings, cooking classes, and private tours throughout the wine regions in France, providing both customized travel itineraries and guided travel tours to their favorite vineyards and historic sites.
